How this site handles your data.
This site sets no cookies. It is built and hosted by 158 Lab in Hobart, Tasmania, on our own server, behind Cloudflare, which terminates the connection and protects the site from abuse. Cloudflare sees the same request details any web host would: your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser type.
The only measurement on the site is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and load times in aggregate. It uses no cookies, no fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking, and it does not identify you. We use it to see which episodes people read about and whether pages load quickly.
Episode details on this site come from the show's public feed. When you press play, your browser fetches the audio directly from the show's media host (Spotify for Creators, served from Amazon CloudFront), which will see your IP address as any file download does. Nothing is fetched until you press play. Links to Spotify and Apple Podcasts take you to those services and their own privacy terms.
The hero video, images and fonts are served from this site. Apart from the Cloudflare measurement above, no third-party scripts, embeds or trackers load on any page. The one other exception is the contact form's bot check, Cloudflare Turnstile, which loads only after you start using the form.
When you send a message or a guest pitch, your name, email and message are stored in 158 Lab's contact system (self-hosted in Hobart), an internal task is created so the hosts see it, and two emails are sent through Resend: one to the show, one acknowledgement to you. We keep your connection's IP address and browser type with the submission to deal with abuse. We do not use your details for anything else, and we do not add you to any list. To have a submission deleted, reply to the acknowledgement email.
Questions about this notice go to the hosts through the contact page, or through 158lab.com.au.
